First off, congratulations and thank you for choosing KivaKube. You are now the proud owner of the only portable BBQ that cooks with charcoal, wood, gas, or pellets, all in one compact unit. Whether you're grilling in the backyard or out in the wild, your KivaKube is built to perform, built to last, and proudly made in the USA. We're excited to have you on this journey with us.

This page will walk you through everything you need to know to get started: from how to season your grill to how to use each fuel source safely and effectively. Take a few minutes to read through the instructions before firing up your KivaKube for the first time. A little prep now means better performance, longer life, and tastier meals down the road.

  • APPLY OIL

    Before use, coat all internal cooking surfaces with a high smoke point oil (like avocado or canola oil).

  • FIRE IT UP

    Let the KivaKube heat up to 500°F and maintain that temperature for 30 minutes.

  • UNLOCK THE LID

    Lift up on the center tab to unlatch the top lid.

  • UNFLOD

    Rotate the top lid counterclockwise until the hinge settles into the groove—this locks it open and ready for setup.

  • SET THE CHIMNEY

    Lift the chimney into place to ensure proper airflow and temperature control while cooking.

  • LIFT THE LID TO REVEAL THE COOKING SURFACE

    This is where the magic happens.

  • REMOVE CONVERTKIT

    Lift and pull the Charcoal ConvertKit out.

  • ADD FUEL

    Place charcoal or fuel source onto the grate.

  • REINSERT AND LOCK

    Slide the ConvertKit back in and lock it in place by inserting the metal tabs into the slot on the base unit.
